The Bible says, "Give away your life; you'll find life given back, but not merely given back — given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting is the way. Generosity begets generosity."
— Luke 6:38, The Message

As followers of Jesus, we are taught to tithe our income to the Lord. What does it mean to tithe and why do we need to do this? See our Beliefs on Giving.

Bagby provides several ways for you to give your tithes and offerings so that our vision of “Come to Christ, Grow in Christ, and Go for Christ” can be fulfilled:
  • Cash - Simply place cash in an envelope (found in the pew pocket) and drop it in an offering plate at any worship service. Be sure to include your name and address on the envelope so donation credit may be provided for tax purposes.
  • Check Make your check out to Bagby Memorial UMC and note in the memo section if you want to designate your donation. Ensure that your correct address is on the check and drop it in the offering plate during any worship service or mail it to the church.
  • Electronic Giving – Bagby can work with you to automatically debit your checking or savings account regularly. Complete the Electronic Giving Registration Form and return to the church office. Be sure to enclose a voided check with the completed registration form.
  • Online Giving - Online giving through PayPal is an easy, secure and convenient way to give your tithes and offerings. Your gifts can be given anywhere at a time that is convenient for you. This method of giving allows you to give to Bagby through your PayPal account. Please know that Bagby promotes sound financial management and does not encourage anyone to enter into debt in order to make a contribution. We suggest this option not be used unless you plan to pay off your credit card balances in full each month.
  • Estate Giving - You can give to Bagby as you plan the distribution of assets out of your estate.  Make Bagby one of the beneficiaries on your life insurance.  Give by donating stock or through planned estate gifts such as bequests and trusts.  These avenues of giving may provide significant tax benefits to the giver.  For guidance contact a financial advisor.
